Business and Industry Fire Inspections
The Lake County Safety Council is proud to present the September monthly program -- Business & Industry Fire Inspections (with check list) -- on Friday, September 16. The keynote speakers will be Terry Scott and Jerry Craddock from the Mentor Fire Department. Scott has been a full-time firefighter with the Cleveland Fire Department for 23 years, 19 years as a lieutenant. He has worked for two years in the Cleveland Fire Prevention Bureau and has worked 16 years as a part-time fire inspector/plans examiner for the Mentor Fire Department. Some of the topics he will cover include: ---What do fire inspectors look for during a routine inspection ---What are the most common violations inspectors find ---What are the testing frequencies for various fire systems ---How are violations handled/repeat violations Craddock has been a firefighter and paramedic with the Mentor Fire Department for 31 years and he has been a public education specialist since January of 2016. He also is on the dive team. Scott also will give examples of failed systems that contributed to extended loss; and he will give an overview of how to handle a fire incident or emergency situation should it occur. The meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites LaMalfa, with registration beginning at 11:15 a.m. The cost of the event is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
