The LCSC presents- Common Safety Hazards/Violations in General Industry

The Lake County Safety Council is proud to present the August monthly program -- Common Safety Hazards/Violations in General Industry -- on Friday, August 19.

The keynote speaker will be Scott Turner, BWC, Safety Consultant Specialist. Turner, who has been with the BWC for more than 23 years, will detail the issues related to common safety violations, including accident causation. He will talk about: trips, slips and fall hazards; regulations and standards; the use of compressed air and electrical hazards and violations. Turner's focus at the BWC has been working with Ohio's employers to eliminate hazards and improve internal safety management practices and to prevent occupational injuries. He will discuss; portable tools and extension cords; machine guarding; powered industrial trucks and forklift accidents. Turner has assisted more than 1,300 industrial and construction employers by identifying unsafe conditions and unsafe work practices. He is an instructor for the BWC's and currently presents programs on OSHA Injury/Illness Record Keeping, Accident Analysis, OSHA 10/30-hour construction courses and OSHA 10/30-hour general industry courses. The meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites LaMalfa, with registration beginning at 11:15 a.m. The cost of the event is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
