Trends in Substance Abuse and Testing w/Dr. Nancy Rodway
The Lake County Safety Council is proud to present the June monthly program -- Trends in Substance Abuse and Testing -- on Friday, June 17. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Nancy Rodway, medical director of the Lake County General Health District. She will discuss trends in substance abuse in the community and how it impacts the workplace. Rodway is board certified in occupational health and pathology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Occupational Medicine. Some of the objective of the presentation will be to help attendees: ---Understand the most recent trends in drugs of abuse ---Learn of the State of Ohio statuatory changes regarding opiates ---Learn to judge reasonable suspicion of impaired employees. Rodway earned her medical degree from Ohio State University and completed residences at Summa Health System and the University of Pennsylvania. She received her master's degree in Public Health from the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. Rodway is a certified Medical Review Officer for substance abuse testing and is the occupational medical director for Ford Motor Company in Lorain. The meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites LaMalfa, with registration beginning at 11:15 a.m. The cost of the event is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
