Be Prepared -- Emergency & Disaster Preparedness
The Lake County Safety Council is proud to present the September program --- Emergency and Disaster Preparedness -- on Friday, September 19. The keynote speaker will be Sandra DiFranco, M.H.Ed., Preparedness and Health & Safety Services, the American Red Cross. September is National Preparedness Month and DiFranco will focus on Workplace Emergency Preparedness. Natural and human disaster can strike suddenly, any time and any where. There are three actions everyone can take to help make a difference---get a kit, make a plan and be informed. DiFranco will discuss the 2015 New Year disaster preparedness resolution. --Know what emergencies or disasters are most likely to occur in our community. --Have a business and family disaster plan and practice it. --Have an emergency preparedness kit. --Have at least one company employee or family members trained in first aid and CPR/AED. DiFranco has been a high school teacher (Cuyahoga Heights High School), has volunteered with the Red Cross as an aquatic specialist and has worked for the Red Cross for more than 10 years in Preparedness Health & Safety. Thee meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites LaMalfa, with registration beginning at 11:15 a.m. The cost of the event is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
