LCSC Awards Banquet-150 Winners to be Honroed

The Lake County Safety Council is proud to present the April Safety Awards Program on Friday, April 25.

The special keynote speaker will be Stephen Buehrer, Administrator-Director of the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation (BWC).

Also, nearly 150 companies and organizations will be honored at the luncheon for their stellar safety records and efforts in 2013.

Director Buehrer, who was appointed by Ohio Governor John Kasich as the Administrator/CEO of the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation in January of 2011, will be presenting an overview of BWC Safety Council operations.

Buehrer leads and agency of 2,000 employees that serves more than 225,000 employers and 1.3 million injured workers while collecting $2 billion in annual premiums.

Known for focusing on fiscal responsibility and efficiency, Buehrer has engineered significant improvements at the BWC...including lowering and stabilizing premiums and improving worker care...and reduced fraud resulting in the lowest collectible rates for private employers in 24 years.

He will be addressing issues such as:

---the BWCs role in job creation

---the Safety Grant program expansion

---the Grow Ohio program

---the Destination Excellance program

---prospective premium payments

---and improved care to injured workers

The meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites LaMalfa, with registration beginning at 11 a.m.

The cost of the event is $25 for members and non-members. Reservations may be made online at the LCSC web site listed below.
