Employers are encouraged to apply for the DFSP and take advantage of the benefits. Among other things they include: ► A better understanding of the nature and effect of abuse/misuse of drugs and/or alcohol ► A safer work environment ► The reduced frequency and severity of injury ► Improved employee morale ► Discounted workers’ compensation rates ► Reduced Social problems associated with drug and alcohol abuse/misuse The BWC has designed the new DFSP to make it easier to use. The program has less mandates and features a streamlined focus on safety.
