The steering committee for the Lake County Safety Council is proud to announce the December LCSC program ... Emerging Safety Technology - Virtual Design Construction (VDC) & Drone Safety Applications, with keynote speaker Scott Cole. Cole will address technology related safety innovations and opportunities. He will include an overview of how technology is shaping the way safety and management personnel plan safety. The presentation will focus primarily on new construction applications, but it can be applied to all building design and renovations. Cole works full time as a business unit environmental, health and safety director for Turner Construction Company. He holds a bachelor's degree in business management and administration from Kent State University and also holds various certificates from Ohio University, Ohio State University and Texas A&M University. He will discuss new construction applications or re-design and renovation applications driven by Vitraul Design Construction technology, 4D modeling and advanced robotics for the workplace. He also will address how technology is impacting safety planning as it relates to worker safety education, access to control and risk reduction, fall prevention and end-user conflict resolution. Cole has owned and operated Cole Safety Services for 12 years, helping industiral, government and construction clients with auditing, program development, training and on-site consultation. He volunteers on the board of directors as a delegate for the Northern Ohio Chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals as well as the Lake County Safety Council. LCSC programs will continue to be on the third Thursday of every month (unless otherwise noted) and will be organized in a luncheon format from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.. ALSO Returning is the participation rebate of 2 percent for companies that are enrolled in a safety council and attend a minimum of 10 meetings. The semi-annual report has been eliminated, the CEO attendance requirement has been eliminated and there are no group rating eligibility distinctions - the 2 percent rebate is for all eligible employers. The December meeting is on Thursday, December 15 at the new AWT (Alliance ffor Working Together) facility on Tyler Blvd (xxx Tyler blvd, Mentor).
