The steering committee for the Lake County Safety Council is proud to announce the September LCSC program ... ACTIVE SHOOTER - Prevention and Response, with keynote speaker Timothy A. Dimoff. Dimoff will be discussing: ACTIVE SHOOTER - Prevention and Response...and the shift in the traditiinal "lockdown" response. More than 50 percent of Active Shooter events are over in five (5) minutes --- Safety forces may not be designated as the "first responders" --- EVERYONE is a potential "first rresponder." Dimoff is the founder and president of SACS Consulting & Investigative Services. A Certified Prevention Professional, Dimoff is a multi-certified, award-winning and internationally recognized security and HR management consultant, speaker, author, media commentator and expert witness. Workplace aggression and active shooter threats are increasing and a major concern in today's rage-filled culture in schools, businesses and other organizations. Active shooter and aggresive behavior situations are nearly everyday occurrances, and every type of environment needs to recognize the red flags. Dimoff is considered one of the nation's leading authorities in high-risk workplace and human resource issues, security, vunerability assessments, terrorism and crime. He has developed training programs for corporations, law enforcement, security agencies and other organizations. With the program ACTIVE SHOOTER - Prevention and Response, Dimoff will explain how research and experience has caused a demand to "shift" Active Shooter Training from traditional "lockdown" only approach to a combination of .A.L.I.C.E., Homeland Secuurity Training and SACS Consulting Research with proven techniques from real life scenarios. Attendees will learn --- How security assessments identify life threatening vulnerabilities; Prevention and preparedness scenarios; What can be done to reduce risk and increase survival rates; Training with proven options with emphasis on survival; and Learning techniques to delay/prevent the agression and reduce risk. LCSC programs will continue to be on the third Thursday of every month (unless otherwise noted) and will be organized in a luncheon format from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.. ALSO Returning is the participation rebate of 2 percent for companies that are enrolled in a safety council and attend a minimum of 10 meetings. The semi-annual report has been eliminated, the CEO attendance requirement has been eliminated and there are no group rating eligibility distinctions - the 2 percent rebate is for all eligible employers. The September meeting is on Thursday, September 15 at The LaVera Meeting & Event Center, 32200Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills, 44094.
