LCSC September Presentation --- Lockout - Tagout AND Machine Guarding
The steering committee for the Lake County Safety Council is proud to present the September virtual/webinar program --- Back to the Basics - Lockout - Tagout AND Machine Guarding Safety - with keynote speaker Travis Spagnolo, MBS CSP, SafeX. The program is from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2021. This training event is provided to you by the LCSC steering committee. The presentation will cover critical items concerning the importance of Lockout - Tagout training and safety protocols AND Machine Guarding safety basics and protocols. Spagnolo is a Certified Safety Professional who conducts on-site safety audits for SafeX construction clients and provides safety support and assistance for various type od companies. He is experienced in delivering toolbox talks, developing job hazard analyses and is a training facilitator for: fall protection, scaffold safety, lockout - tagout, silica, confined spaces and other safety and health topics. Attendees will learn the basic components of OSHA regulatory standards, training requirements and the best practices for both Lockout - Tagout AND Machine Guarding. The presentation will cover objectives such as: ---The explanation of both regulations and requirements for the employer ---Training requirements for employees ---Common hazards of machine guarding AND LOTO ---Audits and assessments for both programs In addition to supporting construction clients, Spagnolo works with numerous manufacturing and industrial clients; performing facility inspections, safety gap assessments and other tasks. He is well versed in OSHA's walking-working surfaces regulation for general industry and is experienced at providing fall protection assessments for general industry clients. Spagnolo frequently developes lockout - tagout procedures, he serves on the construction safety planning committee for the BWC annual Ohio Safety Congress and is a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP).
