Business/Community Risk Reduction - Prevent/Mitigate Company Risk
The steering committee for the Lake County Safety Council is proud to present the December virtual/webinar program --- Community Risk Reduction - The 5 E's - Business/Community Risk Reduction --- Prevent/Mitigate Company Risk thru Public Safety Education --- with keynote speaker Jerry Craddock, Mentor Police Department The program is from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2020. This training event is provided to you by the LCSC steering committee. The webinar will provide important notes and instruction for employers and employees on how to address risk reduction in the workplace. Craddock is a firefighter, paramedic and public education specialist for the Mentor Fire Department. He will address the critical role safety educators and leaders play the promotion of safety based risk reduction practices. He will stress the importance of promoting safety heroes and the characteristics of trust, experience, being a solid role model, being dynamic and being passionate about safety and risk reduction. Craddock will stress the five (5) E"s - Education, Economic Incentive, Enforcement, Engineering and Emergency Response. Education --- get people to buy in, connect with the individual, establish relationships and be a good listener Economic Incentive --- monetary savings, people will work better in a safe environment Enforcemenrt --- great value in fire inspectors and having plans to grow a safety culture Engineering -- design elements are important in safety equipment and tools Emergency Response --- fire department (train AND willing to train), experienced safety people and staff, promote safety leadership roles. Regardless of the size of the company/organization the five (5) E's are applicable to safety training and proctices; and the prevention and mitigation of company risk.
