Emergency Response & Preparedness - A Real-Life Example
The steering committee for the Lake County Safety Council is proud to present the February monthly program --- Emergency Response & Preparedness --- on Friday, February 9. The keynote speaker will be Cliff Smith, ECKART America Corp. - Environmental, Health & Safety Manager. He will provide essential information pretaining to emergency response and preparedness, siting specific examples from a fire at the ECKART America plant in Painesville in 2017. His presentation will discuss: The contents of an Emergacny Action Plan: ---Responsibilities and Emergency Procedures ---Assembly Areas & Safe Plant and Services Shut Down ---Media Communications & Roles and Responsibilities of the Security Company Prior to joining ECKART, Smith spend 15 years working at a local aerospace company. He is an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Lead Inspector. He will discuss the responsibilities of the Head of Operations and the Emergency Coordinator; the EHS Manager and the Shift Supervisor and the Department Emergency Response Coordinator. He will review emergency prodecures for various types of emergencies - medical, fire and natural disasters. Smith has an extensive manufacturing background, is a member of the Lake County Safety Council Steering Committe and the past director of the committee. He will talk about the "real-life" issues presented at the incident at the ECKART Americas plant in Painesville, including the after the disaster protocol. The meeting will be held at the Villa Croatia Event Venue & Party Center (The Croatian Lodge), 34900 Lakeshore Blvd., Eastlake, OH 44095, with registration beginning at 11:15 a.m. The cost of the event is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
